Some unit are more readable than others. If you're used to the metric system, scales in meter seem clear enough -- but not if you're used to inches and feet! Moreover, you can prefer kilometer per hour to meter per second.
The Live Access Server able to make computations on the variable you are plotting. In the "output options", at the bottom, you have a "Evaluate expression" box. There you can fill in the mathematical expression you wish to compute, $ being the variable. You can thus convert m/s in km/h, by typing in $*60*60/100000, for example. Above, U and V geostrophic velocities, in km/h.
