[Jason-2] Scientific mission interruption from April 5 to April 6, 2016: no products will be processed

Category: Operational news

On 2016/04/05 and 2016/04/06, a new software will be upload to the Jason-2 platform. As a consequence, scientific intruments will be switched in stand-by during this event and no scientific products will be processed.

The Jason-2 mission will be interrupted for 24 hours from April, 5 (13h30 UTC) to April, 6 (13h52 UTC) to allow the upload of a new GPS flying software that will correct the risk to face a GPS anomaly (PROTEUS platforms “roll-over” problem). This decision has been endorsed by the 4 partners : CNES, NOAA, NASA/JPL, EUMETSAT. During this upload, scientific instruments will be switched in stand-by mode and should be operational 24H later if everything is nominal. As a consequence, no scientific products will be processed during this time period (no OGDRS; IGDRs and GDRs will contain data holes corresponding to unavailability period).
