The quality of the SSALTO/DUACS products is still affected by the large Jason-1 gaps (more than 12 days). In order to insure to minimize the impact on the user products  quality we will use temporarily Jason-2 data (Jason-1 successor), successfully launched last June, which is still in the verification phase. Although this test period is not completed and Jason-2 data are not yet stamped as fully validated by the project, first results show very good performances and indicate that there is a very good consistency with respect to Jason-1. Therefore from today onwards, with the agreement of the Jason-2 project, a back up processing chain combining  Jason-2, Envisat and GFO will be set in place. This configuration will be kept in operation as long as the Jason-1 gap impacts the SSALTO/DUACS products quality.
