Category: News of the other missions

Envisat celebrates its 9th anniversary with one hundred cycles of measurments.

Envisat celebrates its 9th anniversary with one hundred cycles (with a-35 days orbital period). Developed by Esa and launched in March 2002, Envisat was recently moved to a new orbit (October 2010) to ensure an additional 3 years lifespan. In spite of a non strictly repetitive tracks in this extended phase, Envisat is still a key component providing good sampling complementarity with the tandem Jason and large improvements associated with an additional satellite in Near Real Time.
