CNES message

In the current situation, like in nearly all space agencies over the world, CNES has taken action in order to secure all critical activities, and ensure the safety of all its agents at the same time. For a period still undetermined, and as long as it will be necessary, a minimal team of operators is still accessing CNES premises in order to ensure routine operations, with a rolling schedule aiming at reducing the risk of contamination. All other CNES agents are available by telework.

As far as Jason-3 is concerned, all routine operations are taken care of. Platform and payload command/control and altimetric data production are nominal. However, if a contingency was to occur on Jason-3 (major anomaly or safe hold mode for example), there is no guarantee at this time that it would be possible to perform a timely recovery of nominal operations with the organization in place. In this case, an operational committee would gather, determine what are the actual possibilities to recover, and inform you of the actual situation as soon as possible. We are however confident that Jason-3 will keep on its excellent behavior, and we will not have to come to this.

We hope all of you will stay safe.
