Please note that the Jason-2 altimeter will be switched to the so-called 'DIODE DEM mode' on cycle 209 (starting on March, 5th 2014).
Please note that the Jason-2 altimeter will be switched to the so-called 'DIODE DEM mode' on cycle 209 (starting on March, 5th 2014).
This mode was already used during the commissioning phase and also during cycle 34.
As demonstrated during 2010 OSTST meeting, this has no impacts on the data quality (refer to J.D. Desjonqueres presentation www.aviso.altimetry.fr/fileadmin/documents/OSTST/2010/oral/19_Tuesday/desjonqueres.pdf
This is used again on the Jason-2 mission to prepare the operations for the Jason-3 and Sentinel-3 missions.
