Ten years ago, Jason-1 opened a new pathway for radar altimetry: back in pictures of this one-decade in orbit.
On December 7, 2001, Jason-1 was launched into orbit by Cnes and Nasa. Few weeks after, on January 2002, the satellite is its on operational orbit. More than a breakthrough in ocean observation, Jason opened a new pathway for radar altimetry, and it has helped to build up a 20-year time series of continuous sea-surface measurements.
