[Jason-2] new Safe Hold Mode

Category: Operational news

Few hours after the recovery, the Jason-2 spacecraft entered again in safe mode on 30 March 2013.

Few hours after the recovery, the Jason-2 spacecraft entered again in safe mode on 30 March 2013. As for the previous SHM, no evident root cause has been seen in the first analysis performed over the week-end. Expert teams from CNES and industry (TAS) have been activated and a first meeting is planned on 2 April 2013.
The satellite is currently in a safe and stable Sun-pointing configuration. The 4 partners operational teams are working closely to support current and future operations. The mission will resume as soon as this anomaly is understood, and we will keep you informed of our progress.
Sorry for this bad news,
