The unmanned Space-X Falcon 9 rocket launch mishap to resupply the International Space Station has impacted the projected launch date for the Jason-3 mission. While the incident review team looks into the cause of the failure, NOAA and NASA are working with the European partners, CNES and EUMETSAT, to determine the next steps toward a new target launch date for Jason-3.
The Jason-3 launch campaign took place nominally since June 18th 2015 and is now stopped waiting for a new official launch date. CNES takes measures to ensure the satellite storage in Vandenberg to be able to restart the campaign efficiently.
